Appointments and bookings

Kimberley Medical Group is a private billing practice. Appointments can be made online via our website, Facebook page or by calling our receptionist on (08) 9157 9860.

To help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and support our patients to stay at home we are now offering Telehealth appointments for all patients.

When calling to make a GP appointment at our Broome practice it is helpful if you can give our reception staff an idea of what you need as some consultation problems require special consideration and extra time.

Booking the appropriate appointment helps our doctors to give your health concerns the attention they deserve without being rushed. This also helps us to manage our appointments better and minimise waiting times.

We ask that you please book an individual appointment for each family member needing to be seen. This will help your doctor run on time and ensures that each patient is given the time their problems require.

If you are unsure what type of appointment you require, please call our reception staff and they will be happy to assist.

Please see our appointment booking guide below.

FAQ

An SMS reminder will be sent to your mobile the day before to confirm your appointment. As we get very busy, if you cannot keep an appointment, please call and advise reception at least two hours prior to your appointment. This will allow us to offer that appointment to another patient on our waiting list. Our cancellation policy is further down this page.
Each day the practice sets aside ‘urgent’ appointments for patients who need to be seen on the day. Although this may not be with your usual doctor, it means you can still be seen by a doctor when you are acutely unwell. Doctors within the practice are able to easily access your records and where necessary can liaise with each other.

If we are unable to provide you with an urgent appointment, please attend your nearest emergency department. For Broome residents please contact Broome Hospital Emergency Department at Robinson Street, Broome or call 9194 2222.
Kimberley Medical Group is committed to providing all of our patients with exceptional care. When a patient cancels without giving enough notice, they prevent another patient from being seen.

We require you to contact us at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled appointment to notify us of any changes or cancellations. If prior notification is not given, you will be charged a missed appointment fee.

Any concerns or queries about this policy can be discussed with our Practice Manager.
General practice can be unpredictable and unfortunately medical emergencies can occur which can cause our doctors to fall behind and be delayed despite our best efforts. We appreciate your understanding of this and please feel free to phone the practice before your appointment to check whether your doctor is running on time.

As a courtesy to you, if delays are significant, we will try to notify you of the delay, as well as enable you to reschedule your appointment if needed.
The doctors at Kimberley Medical Group believe that to provide quality care for their patients repeat prescriptions require an appointment with a doctor.

Our doctors have a strict policy on the prescribing of Schedule 8 medications. Please see our policy for further details.

Depending on the type of test(s) you may have undertaken, results will be available between 24 hours to 14 days after the test(s) is performed. It is preferred that you return to discuss your test results with your doctor to protect your confidentiality and ensure that you understand the results.

Our practice nurses will also notify you if your doctor would like to see you to discuss your results. This may be done via SMS or with a phone call. Please contact reception to leave a message with the practice nurse if you have any concerns.

Each time you present to our practice, please make sure your contact details are up to date. This will assist us in notifying you of your results.

Your feedback is important to us. Patient feedback forms are available at reception and improvements as a result of your feedback are detailed in our waiting room.
